Gergely Szatmári
Artistic statement
My works are defined by a thematic, project-based, sociographic visual perception based on classic aesthetics. Their prevailing characteristic is an organizational attitude, but other parts of the images are defined by immediate recognition, sudden impressions, and reflections. I enjoy lengthy projects that last for years. Time, as a defining factor, is a necessity that overwrites the picture’s elapsing nature. It places the images in a larger time frame, which aids it in conveying a story that emphasizes narrative.
