Domonkos Benyovszky-Szűcs
ARTISTIC STATEMENT
As an artist, I think it is important to be able to view things from a different perspective than our own, to observe and understand each other's reality. Hence, my art focuses on mapping personality structures and their operation and on examining the plasticity of identity. I seek the potential for transition between figurative and non-figurative art because I'm interested in the contradictory connection between sight and meaning. In my work, I create photo sketches to analyze image compression errors and digital automatisms, which I then transform into the medium of painting. I believe that art as an experience can give us a new framework of interpretation, therefore, I am currently experimenting with the interactive possibilities of physical space and theoretical dimensions.
