Ádám Misch | PANEL Contemporary
solo exhibition
József Bartl was born on September 25, 1932, so this year we would celebrate his 90th birthday. On this occasion, Faur Zsófi Galéria presents a large-scale exhibition that highlights Bartl's work from different eras, thereby helping visitors to get a complete picture of his visual art activities. Another interesting feature of the exhibition is that the works of Ádám Misch will be on display in the lower part of the gallery, in the Panel Contemporary. The two creators were born and grew up in Soroksár, so their acquaintance can be traced back to their youth. Bartl and Misch had a close professional and friendly relationship, as a result of which they exhibited together several times.
József Bartl died in 2013, while Ádám Misch died in 1995.
József Bartl: About my painting
"My painting is defined by the color white and the square. I install the surface with white squares, in which I paint dots, triangles, arrows, pediments, puppets, crosses, and lines. Signs are concrete and abstract, decorative and meaningful. Groups of forms nuanced in content, which are playful and thus disciplined. My motifs come from folk art, I emphasize and diversify them with different geometric elements, so they become an icon-like system of signs."
Adam Misch
"Because he was always searching, constantly scratching the surface, the surface of reality. Beneath the varnish he thought he would find his own truth, whatever he called what he found, and wherever those who had nothing else to do were classified. I don't think he ever thought that he wants to consciously create 'lyrical expressionism' or 'expressive lyric'. His intention is to express ideas and feelings at all costs, with the possibilities offered by nature." / Antal Lux
